We have canned lots of green beans, sold some to our neighborhood farmers market, But we still are going to have too many. Can we let them dry out shell them (we have a hand crank pea sheller BTW) and use them like ‘great northern’ dried beans? These are ‘blue lake’ beans. Thanks

i want to grow a hyrdoponic tomatoes- can i just take a “storage container” that you would get at wal-mart or k-mart and put water into it and set the plant in a little slit on top of the “container”? some ppl say yes and others say you need to have water constinatly flowing.
the “container” is like a ’storage’, big, container not a small little one
i have NO CLUE how to grow hydroponic green beans… do i start them out in a little like yogurt container or how do i get it started and growing? how do i harvest them? i dont have a single clue!

I have been trying to lose weight and was told that I should replace as many carbs as I can with vegetables. I have been eating a lot of canned green beans since they are cheap and easy to prepare but are they really as good for me as I think they are. Since they are canned does that add a ton of calories, salt and preservatives? I am living abroad so the nutrition facts are not on cans here like they are in the USA.

I bought these green beans at the farmer’s market because they looked sooo yummy (even though I’m not a huge fan of ‘em!). I was planning on steaming them and serving them with some kind of simple meat. Does anyone have any suggestions on either how to serve them and what to serve them with? Something without a whole bunch of ingredients & healthy please!

I bought a box of those steamer bags for veggies, and I have some frozen green beans I want to toss in. (The fresh ones at the store looked bad.) I thought of tossing in some butter, salt, pepper, and maybe even some sliced almonds. Will this be enough to give it flavor? Do you have favorite seasonings for vegetables?

My neighbor’s mother owns a farm and he brought me approx 2 lbs of fresh green beans along with smoked ham hock. I snapped off the ends of the beans and put it all in my crock pot with onions and seasoned it with pepper and crazy salt. Did I do this correctly? Any suggestions?
